apparent structure I is an abstracted landscape and the first completed painting of the apparent structure series, explores active under layers, covered then exposed again. These paintings are built on many varied layers and over time, joined together by the line work depicting botanical shapes. Each explores the idea of creation and cycles of natural generation and degeneration, perhaps depicting the unseen energies of the structures above and below the material world as it forms and dissolves all around us.
